Meet the Registered Mini Pig Breeder

Windward Oaks Julianas

The American Mini Pig Association is proud to introduce Lannette Amon of Windward Oaks Julianas in Metamora, Michigan as a Registered Breeder Member. Lannette has taken the required steps to stand out as an honest, ethical, transparent, and supportive mini pig breeder. She has agreed to follow the AMPA Breeder Code of Ethics. Her website and social media have been screened and approved by AMPA, and she has taken photos of measurements of her pigs proving their size without a doubt to avoid confusion or misunderstandings with new pig parents. Lannette has taken the steps necessary to bring together expectation and reality! She provides thorough screening of potential pig parents and offers life time support for the pigs and their families.

Windward Oaks Julianas specializes in healthy, social, Juliana pigs while also offering mixed mini pigs. Lannette offers something for everyone! She has been raising miniature pigs for over 7 years.

Lannette has an interesting story. She was born and raised with all sorts of animals, including pigs. She spent many years in the corporate industry but dreamt of spending her time on the farm. She has owned and operated Windward Oaks Farm as an equine facility for 16 years.  She has put a lot of time and effort into her mini pigs and now has pig families in nearly every state! AMPA Registered Breeder Lil’ Smokies Julianas has some of Lannette’s pigs in their breeding program. Lannette is recognized by other breeders as breeding for quality, not quantity. Most of the time, there is a waiting list at Windward Oaks Julianas, but these lovely pigs are well worth the wait!

Lannette’s mini pigs are all raised in the house. She says “I am blessed with a facility to have inside kennels and a nursery area. Everyone does enjoy outside time weather permitting”. In all, there are 15 pigs at Windward Oaks including  2 Juliana boars, 8 adult sows, some retired mothers & some youngsters. Lannette’s own personal assitant is spayed “pet” Miss Daisy Doodlebug. Windward Oaks mini pig families enjoy lifetime support from Lannette and a 1 year health guarantee on piglets.

Lannette is well known for her customer service. She strongly feels that supporting  the families supports her pigs having a life-long home. Lannette explains “I consider myself a big advocate for mini pigs everywhere. My pigs travel with me and are often out in the public.  I find myself talking “P-I-G” more than I care to admit.” You can find Lannette and her happy pig families chatting it up with other pig parents, sharing education, advocating for responible ownership, and offering support in her Facebook group The Mini Pig Pen. Lannette admins the group of over 2,000 pig parents!

Lannette has a policy to take back any of her mini pigs for any reason if the owner is no longer able to care for them. She ensures her pigs will never want for a good home. Lannette is a shining example of a responsible breeder that also helps to rehome other displaced or homeless pigs into loving forever families. She is always willing to help connect pigs in need with adoptive families. Lannette is often found offering support to other pig families to help prevent the abandonment or displacement of pet pigs. She sets a standard that other breeders strive to meet.

Windward Oaks Julianas website mentions: The parents of our piglets are our pets.  We do not over breed or in-breed any of our pigs.

Producing outstanding, healthy piglets is something that we love to do, not something that we do just for the money.

We take extreme pride in offering small, healthy, high quality piglets. Don’t be fooled by others who use the terms “teacup, micro, nano, etc.” Those are marketing term and can be deceiving.

We want all of our piglets and their families to do well together. All babies go home with a “New Piglet Info Packet” that will help with their care and give you some “heads-ups” on what you might look out for or expect in the future.   Babies are also started with a baggie of food, blanket and their first harness.  We also provide support to answer questions or concerns as your piglet grows.”
